It's hard to believe but it is already summertime and July 4th is next week! With holidays it's especially important to be careful not to overindulge in foods loaded with hidden sodium. It is often very difficult to keep track of what you are eating, especially in a festive holiday atmosphere and when you are not necessarily in charge of the food; however your body will thank you for not overindulging in foods that will make you "bloat" and feel bad.
Bring foods to parties that you can eat. So many people are being more careful of their diets these days, that they may thank you and welcome the chance to eat healthier!
Here are some foods commonly eaten on the 4th of July and a possible alternative:
Food:1 Hot Dog (Frankfurter - 639 mg sodium (6 Points)
