Salt Content in Food

Foods vary in their salt content. When following a low sodium diet it’s necessary to have an understanding of the sodium content of different foods. Foods can be broken into broad categories based on their sodium content.

Reading food labels and requesting salt/sodium content of menu items, when eating out, are ways of learning sodium content of certain foods.

For more information about foods and their salt content please refer to the book, How to Keep Track of Your SALT Intake, which is available for purchase through this web site.
